3:39 AM - Stupid Bet

Alright so I may have made a stupid bet, not too sure yet just how stupid. I was bad mouthing that Miami team...who are they again? Oh well back to the story, so the SSgt starts to bad mouth my and pretty much everyone else's most beloved team, the Kansas City Chiefs... ya I know, really I understand your frustration. So I had to inform him on just how much BS he was full of. Well after a few minutes (45 minutes really) on this subject we decide to make a bet. He believes the most beloved team eva!! Will win only one more game. I said, in the heat of passion for my most beloved team, that again he was full of it, and it was certainly alot that he was full of. So we decided who ever was wrong gets to parade around the Rec tent in a Elf costum that will have a sign that says "Kansas City Chiefs Suck" Or in his case "Kansas City Chiefs is the best team EVA!!!". Please do not ask why or how we have an elf costum because I still have no clue why we do, but we do. I will post the results of my I mean his demise when it happens =) If you look at the schedule.... well...I am screwed! But I have love for my most beloved team, the Kansas City Chiefs! There is no way they are going to lose that many games! Just no way! (And I will keep trying to convience myself of that till someones demise)
PEACE

Oh and for that don't know... we beat the crap outta New England.... but I guess everyone is this year.

8:20 PM - Happy Thanksgiving from Iraq!!

Good day to all!!!! Sorry about the not posting I am in the middle of a new project that I just started. Basically a new site with a load of pictures, but it has nothing to do with me or this blog. but it does have to do with Iraq... I will give you more info on all of that later though (not in this post, sorry).

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!Well we had a thanksgiving service and I read "George Washington's 1789 Thanksgiving Proclamation" It ended up being a very nice service all in all. Many people told us it was the best thanksgiving service they had ever attented. That is a huge complament! After the service we all walked to the DFAC (dinning hall) and got our food to go and ate in the fellowship area together. Its nice to have a good realtionship with everyone you work with, it makes those moments well worth it. Of course shortly after all of that you always have that guy that just MUST play Christmas music. Well I guess its time for me to settle with the idea that there aren't any more holidays between now and Christmas so I will listen to it, reluctantly though. Oh and as we now refer to Christmas in the Chaplancy as the Holiday Season. So I will now refer to it as the Holiday Season as to not offend anyone. YEAH RIGHT... like I will ever be afraid of THAT!!! LOL

That has been the jist of my Thanksgiving! Oh just so you know because I am sure there are some out there that want to know what we ate over here for Thanksgiving, I had Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef ( I like my meat LOL) with Pumpkin Pie, some kinda rice shrimp salad thing that was awesome, yams, taters, rice pudding but as luck would have it there wasn't any of my Great Grandmas homemade jelly or noodles!!! But what can ya do? =)
Well much love to all and I will try to make more posts my other project is almost done, atleast 'till I get home to upload it all to the web. I would tell ya but someone out there may take my idea and run with it.
PEACE

Oh and by the way the very first Thanksgiving in 1789 was on the 26th of Nov which is my birthday!!!! 24 Saturday 24 Saturday 24 Saturday... LOL

9:04 PM - The Game of Risk

There was a Risk tourney last night and the Chap and I went down to the rec tent to do some serious whooping! Well I was the second person out trying to do the back fill for him. We got ahold of the Australia and I blocked it with my guys so know one else could get in there, well I split my men and lost. I stepped out for a bit and then I came back around 2300 and someone else was needing to head for bed so I took over for him and won the game... honestly I don'y know how since he was so spread out but oh well...The chap stayed a bit after midnight and went to bed then I and the other guy just battled it out I had way more men and won...the game lasted 'till about 0200 and started at 2000. The winner is supposed to get a shirt but since the three of us stayed so long we all three got one. The other game was done in two hours!! I don't know how that happened! Oh and the pic was not posed for the camera, that is us really playing. Oh and just for the sake of arguement... anyone here think Green should have taken Europe as long as you could guarantee red didn't attack? TTYL

6:47 PM - More PR Time...

I think I have got more PR time here than Paris Hilton has...ok maybe I am over stepping it there but here is another article written in a paper that reasches more Americans than any other outside the United States. Its not about me though. Remember that entry I made some time ago about us chill'n and kicking back some cigars? Well this is from earlier that day when our Wing Chaplain pinned on Lt. Col.

Hmmm...what else? Well more of this that and the other, really. Recently I have been getting into a lot of religious conversations with some people. December is now just around the corner. After that we will start the count down! I have been volunteering at the hospital on my days off here recenly, so I will volunteer there again. Doing just about anything from cleaning to putting up new tents and moving everything around to new rooms. Not that bad... good experience ya know. I bought a leather jacket the other day...freaking hand made! Real nice, maybe I will post a pic of me wearing it some time. Well...that is about all I am going to talk about on this post... much love and talk with you all later! PEACE

11:22 AM - The Chiefs on the other hand....

So my team did it once again!! Although they have always been a bit famous for scaring the living crap out of an entire city, they come on top with some freaking crazy plays! Right here is the recap from the Raiders game. But basically, down by 3, 5 seconds left in the 4th on the one yard line. What do you do? Make the field goal and go to OT or go for the TD and pray for the best. Well holy crap! We went for the TD and won!! As of last week we are the 15th ranked team in the NFL...oh well. The God awful broncos were freaking 3rd!!!!!!! People say hate is a strong word to use...well I freaking hate that team!!! That denver team... yeah whoever that is had a bye and we won. The Chargers were 10th and won this week and the raiders were 19th and they lost. So we shall see after Monday night football who is what in the rankings for week 9. I'll post them soon after the ranking come out.

10:01 AM - ...and then not so good times...

Well in my previous post I wrote about good times, man that was fun! and it hardly seems like it happened that long ago.
When a squadron comes to Iraq its not like us where I am the only one from my base, they all come here in good size numbers. Often times they have worked with each other for several years if not their entire military career, which can often times happen to those in the Guard and the Reserves. Most everyones biggest fear of coming to Iraq usually isn't that they die but one of their good buddies that they have worked side by side with for so long may die. Then often you think about you getting hurt. But one thing that almost never comes to mind is someone back home getting hurt or dieing. Recently one of our squadrons had someone back home die suddenly and this person had been with this squadron for over 25 years. Everyone was effected but as they say the mission must go on. So after a great service and some words and some time to reflect it is time to dust yourself off, get up and think about it back home. Unfortunate but if not no one would be getting anything done. So when you keep all the service members in your prayers and thoughts please keep the spouses, friends and other family members back home in them also. It is a hard time for them also.

8:05 PM - Promotion Ceremony

Well last night was one of those great days where you nearly forgot you were in Iraq. The Wing Chaplain went from Maj to Lt. Col I helped pin him on, no blood though LOL. Some great speeches by the General. After the ceremony stuff, we all went to the reception area and had some cookies and gatorade (no beer LOL) We all gave the Wing Chap a killer shadowbox thing and went upstairs to the roof and everyone hung out smoking some Medal of Honor Cigars that his brother sent him from Geremany. The General had to leave early but great fun. We had to of stayed up there for close to 2 hours talking about whatever. Great weather, great night all around!!
