11:16 AM -

Here is a little article in Stars and Strips military newspaper that may help explain why I can't really just blert out all the things that are happening... really not alot of things which is good but none the less. Oh and hey look at it this way as long as I am posting I am obviously OK (That is more for the worried out there :-] )

For those of you that don't know what it is I really do in the military I am a Chaplain Assistant and yes that is a real AFSC (5R0x1) Well I had my first Sunday today and went smooth. Its real nice having the Army here mainly because we have about 28 services through out the week not including all of the daily masses. On Sunday we work 4 of them and 2 of those are Catholic Mass. But also keep in mind that we do have several other faith groups we are supporting that really don't need or don't want the help of the Chaplain Assistants. After setting up Mass went and talked to some of the troops around the base with the Father who is one heck of a guy I think. We did that for about 2 1/2 hours. Met this one Infantry guy who has been here for over 2 years and wants to stay longer. Actually have met a good number of people like this. The few that I have met that don't want to be here are mainly not upset over being in Iraq with the war or any of that stuff, they just hate who they work for, their new team over here, or are just upset on the timing that they had to come over. Pregnet wife, family in the hospital and more recently Hurricane Katrina but as everyone knows the Air Force treats their people the best because of Katrina there are Airmen going home. I haven't meet any of them yet though. Over all though even the Army guys/gals that have been here alot longer than I or the previous cycle of people are not that pissed about being here as I see time after time on the news. You do have the few that join only for the free college but ask anyone here and they will tell you pretty much the same as I feel. I also joined for the killer college bennies but its not free college there is a certain level of commitment that a person must make in order to get these bennies. So either the Communist News Network (CNN) has it all screwed up or these people exist and if you do then all I can say is shut up and suck it up. ITS NOT FREE!!
Oh here is one more little funny article I ran across earlier today. But hope all is well and hey crazy fools don't forget you can make comments on this thing just click on the link that says "No comment" then click "add a comment" and then well... make one. I want to know who is really looking at this thing.
